English private lessons in Amsterdam or online

The prices below are based on English lessons for one individual, but it’s also possible to take English private lessons with 2 or more people. You can take the English private lessons in Amsterdam at one of our locations or, if you prefer, online via Zoom/Skype or at home. For online classes you get € 5,00 per hour discount.

You can choose your own starting date and intensity. We work with 4 different packages, which differ in intensity and flexibility. Choose your package and register through the registration form.

English lessons with 2 or more people

You can also take English private lessons in Amsterdam (or online) with your partner, a friend or colleague(s) and save on the price per person. These are the additional prices on top of the price per hour of the selected package:

  1. How can I register for the private lessons?
    Go to the registration form to register for the private lessons. After the registration, we will select a teacher for you based on your availability, goals and level. Once we have selected a teacher, we will send you a proposal for the starting date and lesson schedule. This process can take up to 5 working days.
  2. When can I start?
    You can choose your own starting date. Take into account at least 5 working days to arrange everything.
  3. I want to take lessons with another person, how do we register?
    Easy! On the registration form you can add additional participants. If you would like to receive separate invoices, please let us know in the comments field in the registration form.

  1. Can I prepare for an exam with the private lessons?
    Yes this is possible. Our teachers have experience with preparing for specific exams. However, you would need to have the overall level of the exam already in this case. If you don’t have the level yet, it’s needed to take a group course or general private lessons first to reach the desired level.
  2. Are the teachers native speakers?
    All our teachers are native speakers or manage the language like their mother tongue language.
  3. Can I try out a lesson?
    With the packages Regular, Semi-Intensive and Intensive Custom you will have one (paid) trial lesson. After this first lesson you can still decide to stop with the lessons. If you decide not to continue, you will only pay for this first lesson. With the Flexible package it’s not possible to try out a lesson.
  4. Can I switch teacher when I’m not satisfied?
    Yes, of course! We find it very important that there’s a good connection between the student and the teacher. If you don’t have a connection with the assigned teacher, we can assign you another teacher.
  5. Do I need books for the private lessons?
    This depends on your package and your purpose. The teacher will let you know after the first lesson whether it’s better to work with a book. He or she can tell you how to get the book as well.
  6. What is the minimum age for the private lessons?
    Private lessons can be given from 5 years old. We have some teachers who are specialised in working with children and the lessons will to be adapted to the age of the student.
  7. Do I get a certificate after finishing the private lessons?
    It’s possible to send you a digital certificate of participation after finishing the private lessons. This certificate states the total amount of hours and the level covered. Just let us know when you need a certificate.

  1. When do the evening classes officially start? 
    We charge € 5,00 per hour extra for lessons which end after 18:00 hr.
  2. I will go on holiday. Can I pause my lessons?
    If you let us know at least one month in advance, it’s possible to pause the lessons for a maximum of 4 weeks.
  3. Can I change my lesson schedule?
    It’s possible to change your lesson schedule once free of charge. If you would like to change it again, you will be charged € 50,00 for every change.
  4. Can I take private lessons for a period longer than 12 weeks?
    Yes, of course. In the registration form you can select the total amount of hours you would like to take. It’s possible to select more hours than the original total of the package.

  1. When do I have to pay?
    With all the packages you will have to pay in advance, before the start of the first lesson. We will send you an invoice, which can be paid by bank transfer, iDEAL, Apple Pay or credit card. It’s also possible to pay in cash at our location.
  2. Can I pay in parts (instalments)?
    With the packages Regular and Semi-Intensive you have the possibility to pay in monthly instalments. You can let us know in the registration form, whether you would like to pay in instalments.
  3. Can the invoice be sent to my company?
    Yes sure! Just provide us all the details which should be stated on the invoice and we will send the invoice to your company.
